Questions about Dog Walker Brentwood
The short answers. Prices in full are on the price list.
Where do you walk?
Brentwood CM14, Shenfield CM15, Hutton CM13, and the nearby villages: Pilgrims Hatch, Warley, South Weald, Ingrave, Herongate, Great Warley, Kelvedon Hatch, Mountnessing and Doddinghurst. That is postcodes CM13, CM14 and CM15. Regular spots include Weald Country Park, Shenfield Common, Faith Park in Brentwood, local woods and quiet pavements. Sometimes we go to the woods behind the football pitches on Ongar Road. We are happy to take your dog on their usual route if you prefer.
How many dogs are in a group walk?
Four at most. Solo walks are for dogs who want their own space. Reactive dogs are assessed before we say yes.
Do you look after big dogs?
We cannot take big dogs in the car for now. We are waiting for a bigger van, with bigger cages for transport. We can still walk them locally.
Is the first walk really free?
Yes. The first walk is free so we can both see if we are happy. After that, a group walk is £12 for 30 minutes or £15 for an hour. A solo walk is £12 for 30 minutes or £22 for an hour.
Do you only look after dogs?
No. Cat visits are £12, usually 20 to 30 minutes. The same price covers a feeding visit for rabbits, guinea pigs, snakes, parrots and fish.
What is the difference between sitting and boarding?
Sitting is in your house. That is £12 for 30 minutes, £22 for an hour, or £70 overnight for up to 12 hours. Each extra hour after that is £15. Boarding at our home is £40 a night, and doggy day care is £40 a day.
Are you checked and insured?
We are DBS checked. The enhanced certificate was issued on 20 November 2025 and nothing is recorded. Public liability insurance is £1 million with Protectivity, for dog walking, pet home boarding and pet sitting, from 28 October 2026 to 27 October 2027. Emily is studying Animal Care at Writtle College.
Will my dog come off the lead?
Only if you say yes. The client form asks for a yes or no, and we stick to it.
Will my dog come back dirty?
We can’t guarantee it. If you ask us to keep your dog clean, we will try. Sometimes the walk is wet and muddy.
When are you open?
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 1pm.
How do I book?
Fill in the client form, or send a WhatsApp. We need a photo of the animal, an emergency contact, and how we get in.
How do I pay?
The first walk is free. For a one-off, we prefer payment after the walk or visit. Cash or bank transfer is fine. Regular clients can be invoiced weekly or monthly, whichever suits you. We are just happy getting paid to look after animals.
